Jane Hughson was elected Mayor of San Marcos in November 2018 and re-elected in 2020 and 2022. Currently, she also serves as Director of the Alliance Regional Water Authority. In addition, she is a member of the boards of the Hays Central Appraisal District and the Greater San Marcos Partnership. Among many other significant roles Mayor Hughson has had, she was appointed by the Texas Legislature to serve as chair of the administrative committee to the first Edwards Aquifer Authority board. Aside from dedicating her life’s work to her community, she also personally sponsors a youth baseball team annually, the Red Sox, in memory of her father, Tex Hughson.
